What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. Some cookies are required to run the solver. Others are used by advertising partners to measure and personalize ads.
First-party cookies
ch_anon: anonymous solver session, HTTP-only, lasts about 180 days. Groups searches so CrossHint can study zero-result queries.crosshint_admin: private admin session. Set only after a successful login.
These cookies are not used to show you ads. You can clear them in your browser. A new ch_anon value is created on the next visit.
Google advertising cookies
CrossHint uses, or is applying to use, Google AdSense to show ads. When ads are served:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

How to control cookies
Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may stop the solver session cookie from working as intended. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google requires a certified consent tool before personalized ads are shown. CrossHint will add that tool before serving those ads.
